As leaders it is easy for us to get so busy that we don't have time to get new instructions from Father God. We find ourselves in a position to have to rely on the past orour best guess when we don't have time to listen for "A Word from Heaven", and this is no time to not have God's direction. In the Old Testament, God' called Moses to come up to Him on the mountain, so He could give him specific instructions. God is calling us up to the mountain to talk to us also. Do you know where your mountain is? It is a place where God can speak to you without the interruptions of the day. It is a place where you can give God your undivided attention and see things from His perspective not yours. For Moses, it was up on the mountain, for us, it might be by a stream or by the lake, or in a closet. The important issue here is to get away from the noise of life, so you can hear HIM! Let's go mountain climbing with God!
It is amazing how difficult it seems to spend "mountian time" with God. But when we live the results of that time we will never want to be without it. There is a huge difference between getting in line with what God is doing and trying to get God in line with what we are doing. That is why "mountian time is so important!

Mountain time is essential!!!! What do we do when we come off the mountain is affected by that alone time with Him. Can we live in a place where the "mountain" is ever present? Brother Lawrence, a French Monk, wrote a book called "The Practice of His Presence." Here he wrote about having Him ever present in the mundane things of life: While washing dishes, doing laundry, yard work, etc.... When we start to view every part of our lives as worship, and not just church activities, then we have arrived to new place of intimacy with Him. Regular mountain time is mandatory, but when we learn to practice His presence in every area of our lives, and in every circumstance, then we have truly become His. We are not our own, we are bought with a price....

Pastor Eddie, once again, I say THANKS!
I think I will encourage Pastor Karl to take me on a small retreat next week in SC (LOL). Seriously, during our devotional time at home this week, we had already decided to spend lots of quiet time in prayer and meditation with God together and alone during our vacation. During this time of transition and change, it will be important to know the plans, directions and destiny God has for us. Thanks for caring for us as leaders at VWC and sheep of this great flock.

Pastor, this makes me think about what Keith Moore was saying in the video that we watched at church last night, that our daily provision is dependent upon our hearing what the spirit is saying to us for that day. This is certainly in line with what the Lord has been reminding me about lately regarding my 'mountain time' with him.

Our purpose in life: To know HIM, and to make HIM known. Without that alone time to cultivate and grow in our fellowship with HIM we can NEVER make HIM known to the world. Every person in different too...some need a closet with nothing going on around them. Others can be in the middle of a busy coffee house and still hear the most intimate instructions...what's important as you have said Pastor, "know where your mountain is and climb it regularly"!!

Some of our time with God needs to be listening time. If we are always active, reading or praying we might not hear His voice. It is so important that we just get some "listening time" in.
