The phrase "under the influence" means that something has influenced you to act, speak, and think a certain way. The most familiar one would be "DUI" which is driving under the influence of alcohol. You know, as a leader you can and should be under the influence of the "Word of God". As a leader you can be "under the influence of many good things, but, you can never be under the influence of Negativity and be successful. Have you ever noticed how negativity seems to take you over, and drain every bit of energy from you? Here are some thoughts on how to deal with negative situations. First, check your attitude about the situation or person. Have you ever got yourself all worked up about something or someone only to find out that its all in your head? Sometimes just changing your attitude changes the whole picture. Next, If there is a negative situation or person you are dealing with, ask yourself, "What can I do to fix the situation? Sometimes, you can talk things out, or offer some training, or define your expectations more clearly. Lastly, if the situation can't be repaired, or the person refuses to change, then there has to be a break. A good leader knows not to allow negativity to build up in their lives. If nothing else has worked, as they say,"If the tooth can't be fixed , then Pull It!"
I've noticed many times that negativity breeds negativity. If my day starts on a negative note, it seems to follow me and show up in everything I do. But when I conquer it at the initial point of attack, I find myself victorious all day long.

I love the analagies Pastor. I was thinking about the tooth and if left too long that tooth will absess and can affect the other teeth as well. Another great Word. Thanks!

Good word for sure..........I tend to be an avid tooth puller so thanks for the reminder that it's okay to try to fix first. Look forward to your next blog!
