The other day in my Bible reading, I saw some interesting words in this portion of scripture. I looked it up in several translations and in the greek. Here is an expanded translation I put together. This goes along with the message for tomorrow. I pray it helps understand these verses.
Philippians 4:6 - 9
Don't entertain worry at all, instead let the Holy Spirit be your best friend.
Tell Him what is going on and give thanks to the Father for all He has already done.
As you do, the assurance of God's wholeness because of what Jesus has already done will flood you and actually build a fortress around your heart and mind.
Stay in this peace by continually thinking on things that are honest, right, and pure.
Let your thoughts be governed by the law of Love. Continue to put into practice the things, as a
mentor I have taught you and the peace of God, that wholeness will be yours. CEXT
Amen & Amen! Very encouraging, uplifting and edifying as always!!!! I glean much from CEXT "Crabtree Extended Translation". Reminds me of an old quote, "Worry is the unpleasant assurance of disaster." I love the Australian's regular lingo... no worries mate!!

I never considered myself a 'worrier', in fact I grew up around that and 'fought' diligently to stay positive in my life. However, I see now, having my understanding enlightened, that I do worry. I map out so much in my life, that if I don't get it done...I worry about it, 'engineering' every day. Don't get me wrong...I still believe in my 'lists'. I like what Zig Ziglar always said about setting your goals and knowing how your day/week was to be set (within reason), so that you CAN look back and SEE your accomplishments. My 'unrecognized' days of worry are over! After spending time with my Daddy God recently and then tonight's service on Prayer, I CAN't NOT abide by what is requested of me in His Word. Seek and I WILL find. Believe and I WILL receive. GIVE/PLANT and it WILL be multiplied. I have to believe that He iS a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him...and that I am 'worth' that reward. My nose is up, my FOCUS redirected, my DIRECTION set firm and my PERSERVERANCE clicked into 'no rerouting'! hahahahahaha devil...You messed with the wrong person and definitely the wrong church! Valley Word IS on the map of Victory!

This has helped me tremendously with my daily studying. When I feel worry coming around I stop what I'm doing and focus on a Creflo broadcast/word study/or confessions to get my mind and heart lined back up with the Word of God. This series has been LIFE CHANGING!

Good teaching pastor, this is Peter Crosby, and I miss being at Valley Word. Would like to come back to the place where I can be fed the word of God. The thought life is where the battle field is. The more we can catch the bad, self defeating thoughts and replace them with God's Word, the more life in Christ we can enJoy. I think, faith can work in the negative as well in the positive. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Most importantly, when we speak the word, we become more confident as we speak it instead of complaine, or any negative confession. What do you say?
