Success won't come to the lazy

I was reading my proverb for the day and ran across this great thought from King Solomon. In Proverbs 26 Solomon said the lazy say there is a Lion in the street, and won't go out because of it. There are two great points here. First, the lazy are full of excuses why they cannot do something. Excuses are an attempt at covering up the fear on the inside of a person. Instead of making excuses, deal with the root, which is fear. Second point is the lazy let things get in the way of progress. To be a success you must be a problem solver. Every problem has a solution. The problem in front of you might be answered with the greatest breakthrough in history.

Perseverance

Hello again. We had a great service yesterday and I wanted to share a thought from the message with you. I was talking about perseverance. The Greek word is "proskartereo". This is a compound word. Pros means face to face. Kartereo means to be strong, with patience. Kartereo comes from the root Kratos, which is the Greek word for dominion. My translation of this word is to "Take dominion over yourself as you stand face to face with the resistance".

You must understand that the enemy does not want you to prosper or to move forward. The enemy is trying to stop you or at least slow you down with some type of resistance. So, what do we do? Do we throw up our hands a quit? When things get hard, thats the time to take dominion over your emotions and thoughts and stand face to face with the resistance. Press into the resistance and press through. Remember, Pressure makes things stronger. Where there is pressure there is strength, where there is no pressure there is no strength.

Be comfortable with success

If you want to be a success you must become comfortable in success driven situations. I have noticed people who want to be successful but they get so nervous they make others nervous. I get uneasy around someone who is so nervous they sweat, stutter and look only at the floor. To be a success you must put people at ease. To be comfortable in these situations, first know who you are. Realize you have as much right as anyone else to be a success. Secondly, study the particular event or meeting one will attend. Know the dress code and "dress the part". I heard once that if you dress like a pauper you'll never have an audience with the king. Don't over dress or under dress. Third, Don't try to be the life of the party. Allow yourself time to get used to the conversation and the conduct. Remember, you can't take back what you have spoken. Less is better. And lastly, Strive to make a good impression. If you build rapport a little at a time, people are more likely to over look small things you might do.

Remember, if you are comfortable, you will make others comfortable. That goes a long way toward success.

What is your goal in life?

What is your goal in life? If you say to make as much money as possible, you will end up very disappointed. You see the Gospel of Mark says the deceitfulness of riches will choke the fruitfulness out of your life. The word deceitfulness in the Greek means a delusion, that which gives a false impression. The delusion is money will make you happy and fulfilled. Money is only a tool. Money should be used to get you to your goals and dreams, not the end all. Take some time and find out your true purpose and move in that direction. You will find you are more fulfilled and the money will come.

Who's your Boss?

I heard someone say, "I want to start my own business so I can be my own boss. Then I won't have to answer to anyone." There is only one thing wrong with that statement, It's wrong! Please understand, if you are a business owner, you will still have to answer to the boss - the customer! You will also have to deal with suppliers, competition, and things like the weather and the economy. So, Why would anyone want the hassle? The answer is for the reward. If you are the owner you get to promote your vision, and your ideas. You are the one who gets to step back and see that you have made a difference in the lives of others.

So, if you have something to offer mankind, get on out there, just don't forget, we all answer to someone!

An Entrepreneur must be forward thinking

An Entrepreneur must be forward thinking if you are going to be successful. First of all, starting out you need to see ahead and plan for the long haul. When starting out, remember it takes time to build up your business. You need to make a plan for finances, extra time requirements , and even the extra stress of starting a business. Faith people think they can believe for instant success, but the Bible says "He who increases little by little will prosper. I have always believed the more time you take to build things right ,the stronger it will be for the next stage of growth. So, plan for slow steady increase and you will always be prepared.

The Entrepreneur's thought process

People have a lot of reasons for being a business owner. When I hear people say I just want to work for myself, I want to be the boss,. I want to make all the money, I think, there is more to being an entrepreneur than that. I have noticed that the thought process of an entrepreneur is different than some people. An entrepreneur is a forward thinker, a risk taker, and has an independent attitude. I would like to talk about these over the next week or so.

An entrepreneur has an independent  attitude. This means they can and often work better alone or with a select few. This also means they don't wait for others to do the work for them, they get out there and make things happen. If you are always waiting for someone to make things easy for you, you either don't have what it takes to be an entrepreneur or you need to step it up.(Is that a nice way of saying, stop being lazy?) Realize that God has given you what you need to be a success, so get moving. The greatest victories come from the greatest resistance. There are three types of people - those who watch things happen for others, those who let things happen to them, and those who make things happen. Which one are you?

Dreaming the Dream

There is a step between desire and manifestation. That step is to dream. This type of dream is not what you do when you are asleep. This type of dream can be defined as the activity of walking out a particular desire in your heart. The Bible says "God gives you the desires of your heart." That says two things. First, He will place those desires in your heart , and He will make those desires come to pass. Our part is to dream. Here is the process. 1.Spend time with Father God and let Him begin to show you direction. 2. Let that direction become a desire. 3. Meditate in the Word and let it show you your desire can come to pass. 4. As you meditate allow your imagination to begin to build the images of you accomplishing your desire. 5. Stay in this place of meditating until you see yourself doing it and then you will realize it is easy to do what Father God has put in your heart.

The Little Train that Could

How many of you remember the story of the little train climbing over the mountain? He kept saying "I think I can, I think I can" until he did. In the market place, our attitude can cause us to be defeated before we have the opportunity to try. If you are always saying, "I can't do it, its too hard" you will never succeed at anything. Change your outlook on life and you will change your view. Change the way you look at things and that will change what you have to look at.

The Rewards to the Market PLace Minister

We have been looking at 1Timothy 6:17-19 to see some keys to activating the Anointing of the Market Place Minister. Today, I want to look at some of the rewards.In looking at verse 19 there is some important points to see. First, the phrase "that they may lay hold on eternal life does not mean you will make it to heaven. You make it to heaven by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and you confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord.

When a Market Place Minister is ready to distribute and willing to communicate, they "lay up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life"

Let's look at this in detail.

Lay up in store in the Greek is the word apo (off or away) and thesaurizo (we would say to build a reserve). the word for good foundation could be translated sure footing. And the word against is the word(eis, not anti) which means to, into, or for the purpose. The greek word for the time to come is mello which is an expectation. We would say something we are believing for. Put his together and it says you are building a reserve in an account in another realm (heavenly) that will produce by giving you sure footing into what you are believing for, that you will lay hold( in the Greek this is epilambano).Lay hold actually means to stretch your arms out wide over the God kind of life and seize it all.

So, when you distribute money, you are building a reserve of money. But, it is about more than money for the Market place minister. When you sow yourself in those mentoring relationships, you will see a return of able, well trained people working for the kingdom and by your side.
