Hello family, we are back from England and over the jet lag. We had a great time. I thought I would take some time to update you on our visit. George (personal chaplain to the Queen) picked us up at the airport in London and drove us to the college. On the way we stopped at Windsor Castle and looked around it. That place is huge. It's a working castle where the royal family spends some of their time.We ate lunch at a nice pub around the corner and then off to Bristol.
Trinity Bible College in Bristol, England is a wonderful place. This is the college where George is the principal. He has been there only two years and has changed the atmosphere of the place. The school now has over 200 students and within 3 more years is expecting 1000 students. The campus is situated in a beautiful part of Bristol, with it's main building dating back to the 1600's. I appreciated so much the sense of history all around the campus. Just think about it, we (in the USA) have some 400 years of history and England has over 2000 years of history. We actually walked down an old Roman path that leads from the hillside around the area of the school, all the way to the river Avon.
I was so blessed by the students at Trinity. The school is an Anglican school, but not at all what I expected (although I don't know what I expected). The school is an evangelical, charismatic school where the students and faculty are on fire for God. We have been praying and believing for revival in England, and I know one place that God will use(Trinity Bible College).
Debbie and I stayed on the campus in what used to be a carriage house. I spoke a total of 4 times while there. Twice I got to talk with students about starting churches. Debbie and I spent time with the Pastor's group, and they asked questions. We really enjoyed those three opportunities. Then I was blessed to have a part in an Anglican Communion Service, with a time of anointing with oil and laying on of hands. We prayed for the sick and discouraged,"What a tremendous honor that was!"
While at the college I got to study using a writing table that is claimed to belong to William Tyndale. In case you don't know, He worked on translating the Bible into English and was the foundation for the King James Version.
All in all, it was a great trip. I'm not sure who was blessed more, the students or Debbie ans I. It was truly an experience I will remember for a Lifetime.
Thanks to all of you who helped us go! And as always it was good to get home to you, our family.
Pastor
